ChoiceOne Bank is pleased to announce the continued expansion of their community bank franchise with an additional branch office in Rockford. ChoiceOne purchased the building at 590 E Division Street NE in Rockford on January 30 and plans to renovate the building and open a full-service branch office expected in October.

ChoiceOne Bank will now provide three convenient banking locations within the Rockford area:

  • Full Service Branch Office at 6795 Courtland Drive NE
  • Full Service Branch Office 590 E Division Street NE – Expected Opening October 2018
  • ATM Service on 10 Mile and 131 at the Citgo AGO Station

“As the local community bank, we recognized a need to provide our customers in the Rockford area with more convenience,” said ChoiceOne Bank President and CEO Kelly Potes. “Even though we know people like to do more of their banking electronically today, we also understand our customers want to visit us in person, too, when they need to discuss a loan or other financial services. We will now have three banking locations in Rockford to provide the best banking experience when and where it’s most convenient for our customers.”

Skylet Cummings is currently Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager for the Rockford market and will oversee customer care and business development in the area. Cummings joined ChoiceOne Bank a year ago with over 20 years of banking experience in branch management, small business banking and business development. Cummings is actively involved with the Rockford Chamber of Commerce and recently volunteered as the Treasurer for the Chamber Networking Circle. She also volunteers with Junior Achievement by teaching financial literacy in the Belmont/Rockford area schools.  Cummings also contributed her time to organizations such as the Rockford Ninja Warrior Youth Camp, SECOM of Grand Rapids, and the Kid’s Food Basket.

Plans are to renovate the building on E Division Street NE and open by fall. New and existing customers will appreciate the new branch office located off Wolverine Boulevard adjacent to the Family Fare anchored shopping center. With 4,556 square feet, the newly remodeled office will have a spacious welcoming lobby perfect for customer meetings and community events, along with drive-up ATM/ITM (Interactive Teller Machine) service that offers a video teller, the latest in banking technology. ChoiceOne will provide commercial loans, consumer loans and residential mortgages from this location, as well as traditional banking including checking, savings and treasury services.

“As we approach 120 years of serving the families and businesses in West Michigan, it’s our ability to get to know our customers and understand their unique needs that truly sets us apart from our competitors,” said Potes. “Rockford is a significant part of our bank culture as many of our employees are from Rockford and continue to call the area home. We are the trusted source for loans, deposits and investment products our customers need for financial success at every stage of their lives and business. At the same time, we also offer the latest technology to provide the convenience our customers require including online applications for loans and deposits, and the latest in mobile banking so business and retail customers can deposit checks from their smart devices.”

ChoiceOne recently announced the purchase of another building in downtown Grand Rapids and plans to renovate the building and open a full-service branch office late this summer. ChoiceOne Bank has engaged Integrated Architecture of Grand Rapids to design the site remodel for both the Grand Rapids and Rockford buildings. “We are excited to partner with Integrated Architecture, a local Michigan firm, to help us design innovative banking centers for our business and retail clients,” said Potes. Initial drawings of the Rockford conceptual image for the remodel are included.

NAI Wisinski of West Michigan’s Office and Retail Advisors Doug Taatjes and Hillary Taatjes Woznick facilitated the sale of the buildings in Grand Rapids and Rockford.
